The M.E.L.A. recovery is specifically formulated to work in synergism with the pHformula skin resurfacing treatments. A unique combination of active ingredients working synergistically to assist in speeding-up skin recovery, maintaining the overall health of the skin, and helping to prevent future skin damage.
 
INDICATIONS
HYPERPIGMENTATION (melasma, chloasma, UV induced hyperpigmentation, superficial melanin disorders, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, solar lentigines, freckles).

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Use during treatment period as well as during recovery time after treatments to enhance and maintain overall skin resurfacing results.
Apply once or twice daily as prescribed by your pHformula skin specialist. Always apply under day or night cream.

PROPERTIES OF KEY ACTIVES
Mandelic Acid – is a potent tyrosinase enzyme inhibitor. Very effective active in the treatment of hyperpigmentation, post-inflammatory and UV- induced hyperpigmentation, and large freckles. Its results are comparable to and often better than those from traditionally prescribed topical hydroquinone.
Niacinamide – reduces melanosome transfer from melanocytes to surrounding keratinocytes. Studies showed that 5% niacinamide provided 35-68% inhibition of melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes.
Phytic Acid – may be considered a phytonutrient providing an antioxidant effect. It inhibits the tyrosinase process, which is responsible for pigmenation. It also has anti-oxidant and anti- inflammatory properties.
Retinol – regulates cellular differentiation. Stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin and acts as a powerful antioxidant.
Arbutin – skin lightening agent, that inhibits tyrosinase, and thus prevents the formation of melanin.
Glutathione – is a tripeptide and is fundamental as an anti-oxidant. Inhibits competitively the synthesis of melanin by interrupting the capacity of L-dopa to combine with tyrosinase during melanin synthesis.
Salicylic Acid – is an effective keratolytic allowing additional actives to penetrate more effectively.
PH-DVCTM (delivery vehicle complex) – a superior delivery complex used in the pHformula formulations to enhance penetration of active ingredients.
